Matthew A. Jaramillo works in Government Affairs with the Public Service Company of New Mexico, where he leads a team that collaborates on environmental, conservation, economic development, and energy issues important to our state. Matthew’s role is in developing sustainable policy strategies that are good for New Mexico's economy, communities, and environment, which is critical in both strengthening and fostering relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders towards the goal of a zero carbon New Mexico. Prior to joining PNM, Matthew was the Director of Government Affairs for the New Mexico Finance Authority where he was responsible for building coalitions among New Mexico’s communities around financial policy including infrastructure, tax credits, planning and regional development and economic development strategy. Matthew has also previously worked as a portfolio manager and wealth management advisor for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. As a 16th generation Northern New Mexican, Matthew believes leadership and community involvement are what will move New Mexico up from the bottom of all the bad lists and to the top of all the good ones. That is why he also serves on the Board of Directors of several national, regional, and local organizations and tries to install a deep cultural appreciation upon his three children, Charleigh, Isaak, and Jaimeson.
