Our Mission
​​​​The Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to strengthen the local economy and serve as the Voice of Business in community affairs.

Our History​​
​​The Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce was established in 1882 as the Santa Fe Board of Trade; the Chamber has since been the voice of the region’s business community. The Chamber has helped turn the Santa Fe area into one of the best places in the country to live, work and raise a family all while helping over 700 member businesses thrive.

Our Achievements
The Chamber’s Board of Directors identifies key priorities that support the mission and create clear collaborations with other organizations. Chief among these is job creation, increasing the supply of income-appropriate housing, workforce development, and business advocacy. The Chamber acts as the catalyst, convener, and champion for our community and does so in the following ways:

Lobbying as the Voice of Business​

• We support the mission of Los Alamos National Laboratory resulting in regional economic development

• We are a founding member of the Santa Fe Housing Action Coalition

• We support “Fly Santa Fe” and the expansion of the Santa Fe Airport

• We consistently seek funding for local and state tourism marketing initiatives

• We host conversations to inform the electorate about local political candidates and legislative issues

• We host monthly networking events for businesses and community leaders

• We work to reduce unnecessary rules and regulations in support of common-sense business licensing

• We have formed a taskforce to address the child care challenges in our community

​Growing the Local Economy

• Working with local merchants to improve business climate
• Hosting foreign trade and industry groups interested in investing in Santa Fe
• Connecting businesses with government agencies, resources, and partners
• Celebrating new businesses through ribbon-cuttings and other events
• Working to diversify the local economy

• Working to reduce regulations, create regional collaborations, and strengthen relations with local and state government
• Working with City of Santa Fe Tourism to develop “Santa Fe Marketplace,” an e-commerce site for businesses

• Creating and hosting the first ever Feria Southside, an event aimed at providing  business resources to the southside and Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs
