Since 1882, when the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce was formed as the Santa Fe Board of Trade, the Chamber has been the voice of the region’s business community. While helping our over 1,200 member businesses secure their corporate futures, we’ve helped turn the Santa Fe area into one of the best places in the country to live, work and raise a family.

This is accomplished through four main areas of focus:

Creating a Stronger Local Economy

The Chamber’s number one priority is to help member businesses grow and make Santa Fe a great place to do business by:

  • Working with government agencies to develop cooperative programs that foster a positive climate for economic development

  • Supporting the tourism industry which generates millions of dollars in the Santa Fe area

  • Working to streamline permitting processes

  • Bringing together community members around issues affecting business and economic development including: transportation, infrastructure, technology, health care, education, legislation etc.

  • Working for government policies that promote rather than inhibit business growth

  • Producing the Santa Fe Business Expo which brings together hundreds of local business in April each year

Promoting the Community

  • Encouraging visitors from all over the world to vacation and convene in Santa Fe

  • Providing exposure for member businesses on www.santafechamber.com which draws over 25,000 visitors a month

  • Maintaining a Resource Center with complete visitor and community information

  • Spotlighting member businesses through the monthly Business Advocate newsletter

  • Educating businesspeople through cooperative programs with SCORE Santa Fe, the SBDC, Santa Fe Futures and the Santa Fe Business Incubator

  • Promoting numerous local events through the Resource Center and website calendar

Providing Networking Opportunities

  • Monthly Business After Hours, Business Over Breakfast and Lunch with a Punch events

  • Annual Business Expo, Legislative Reception, Business Day, Golf Tournament, Business Excellence Awards and Banquet events

  • Regular candidates and political issues forums

  • Chamber Ambassadors who assist with ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings and other business events

  • Chamber committees and task forces devoted to business issues

Representing Business Issues through Lobbying and Political Action

  • Lobbying at the City, County and State levels for issues of concern to Santa Fe business

  • Hosting 1000 state legislators and businesspeople at the annual Legislative Reception

  • Partnering with the Association of Commerce and Industry in producing Business Day with legislators

  • Producing an Annual Legislative Agenda that forms the basis of lobbying efforts

  • Alerting members as to important issues facing local business

The Chamber is the number one business resource citizens look to in the community.  The area's economic well-being is directly related to the caliber of work performed by The Chamber.  That is why we seek to have a major impact on business, income and future growth of the Santa Fe area.

The Mission of the Santa Fe Chamber is to strengthen the local economy and serve as the Voice of Business in community affairs.
